Andrea MacNevin

Andrea MacNevin

Practice Overview

Andrea was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2015. She joined Barteaux Labour and Employment Lawyers Inc. in March of 2022 to focus on workplace investigations. Following her articles with the Federal Department of Justice, Andrea joined the boutique labour relations firm, DW Clark Services, which is based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, but services clients across Canada.

In 2018, Andrea became a part-time associate with DW Clark while she branched out to build her own solo practice. MacNevin Law & Mediation was a conduit for Andrea to build out her workplace investigation and mediation practice. In this role, she also worked on many human rights matters in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and the Canadian Human Rights Commission, including successfully appealing a human rights matter before the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal in 2022. Andrea acknowledges that her work is carried out in the traditional, unceded, and unsurrendered territory of the Mi’kmaq People.

  • Andrea’s work and community involvement is grounded in her appreciation for social and racial justice. When she is not at work, she can usually be found training for a marathon, spending time with her step-kids and godson (when they let her), or endlessly scrolling through social media. She also loves a good hike with her dog, Oakley, and DJ’s on occasion
