We assist employers in negotiating first contracts and renewals of collective agreements and advise on the day-to-day administration and interpretation of employers’ obligations under their collective agreements.

We draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, incentive-based compensation agreements, and terminations of employment.

We provide day-to-day advice on all manner of HR matters, including hiring, attendance management, accommodation, progressive discipline, and terminations of employment.

We advise employers on their obligations under federal and provincial human rights legislation, including the duty to accommodate, the threshold for undue hardship, and managing the accommodation process. We also represent employers in responding to human rights complaints.

We provide fulsome advice and assistance to organizations and individuals to demystify Canada’s immigration requirements.  We perform assessments to determine what type of immigration approval, if any, is necessary for a foreign national to come to (or remain in) Canada as a temporary and / or permanent resident. We help clients bring international business travellers, professionals and skilled workers (and their families) to Canada by providing guidance and helping to navigate the necessary application processes. We obtain temporary resident visas, work permits, permanent residence status and citizenship by making submissions to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, provincial offices of immigration, Service Canada and other government decision makers in the Canadian immigration space. 

We represent employers on applications for judicial review of arbitrations and administrative tribunal decisions, as well as appeals of court decisions. 

We act for employers in all manner of employment litigation: wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, breaches of contract including non-competition and non-solicitation issues, and more.

Workplace safety is paramount. We advise employers on statutory and regulatory compliance, as well as responding to accidents and injuries in the workplace.

We advise employers on best practices for handling and storing employee information including medical information.

We draft and advise on the implementation and administration of necessary workplace policies, from attendance management, to equity issues, to requirements on preventing violence in the workplace, and more.

We offer a variety of independent and impartial services to address harassment complaints and other workplace conflicts. In addition to investigations, our suite of services includes mediations, workplace assessments, and training.
